Boldo is an evergreen shrub with waxy leaves and small, green fruits. Native to central Chile, Peumus boldus has since spread across South America and has become naturalized outside its native range, with small populations in Europe and North Africa. The fresh leaves have a strong scent, and when dried are slightly less pungent. Boldo leaf is used in Chilean cooking in a similar fashion to bay leaves, and it is often added to yerba mate or other herbal teas. Our organic boldo leaf can be tinctured, infused, or encapsulated.
Not for use in persons with obstructions of the bile duct or serious liver conditions.
