Guggul gum resin comes from a small, thorny tree native to arid environments throughout northern Africa and northern India. Commiphora wightii exudes a thick, viscous resin that has been used in Ayurvedic formulas for centuries. Guggul gum is similar to myrrh and the resinous material has traditionally been used in much the same way. The organic guggul gum offered by Mountain Rose Herbs is raw and may need further processing, such as pulverizing or melting, for some applications.
