Rumex acetosella may be considered a noxious weed throughout most of the United States, but this opportunistic plant has a history of use for its beneficial properties. Sheep sorrel is a flowering perennial in the buckwheat family. It has long, slender, arrow-shaped leaves and either yellowish-green (male) or reddish-purple (female) flowers along a tall stem. Sheep sorrel is native to Europe and Asia but is now found throughout most of the Northern Hemisphere in disturbed areas and acidic soils.
Our clearance sheep sorrel powder is organic. It can be used in culinary applications including as a garnish or employed for its tart flavor in dressings, soups, and stews. The powder can also be incorporated into herbal formulations or encapsulated.
