Audubon Society of Portland

The Audubon Society of Portland protects native birds (and other wildlife) and their habitats across Oregon. Near Yachats, Oregon, their Tenmile Creek Sanctuary is a place of extraordinary ecological importance. It includes the largest intact stand of coastal temperate rainforest of Sitka spruce and Western hemlock in the lower 48 states and is home to the marbled murrelet and northern spotted owl – federally listed as threatened. Mountain Rose Herbs helps fund the preservation of this critical habitat.

Beyond Toxics

Beyond Toxics has an impressive history of successes, working for environmental and social justice in Oregon. Mountain Rose Herbs does all it can to help our friends at Beyond Toxics. We donate 5% of annual sales from our Pollinator Tea to Beyond Toxics. We also help by sponsoring their action campaigns and events, distributing timely and important campaign materials, and paying for a portion of the printing of those materials. Cascades Raptor Center

They foster a connection between people and bird predators in the Pacific Northwest. Through wildlife rehabilitation and public education, staff and dedicated volunteers work to rehab and release orphaned, sick, and injured birds. Mountain Rose Herbs supports the Center by distributing information and adopting permanent bird residents of the Center annually. We are lucky to have this organization in Eugene, Oregon.

Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah

This nonprofit organization protects and enhances native ecosystems in the Mt. Pisgah area outside of beautiful Eugene, Oregon. They have a dedicated trail crew and lead guided tours through Buford Park’s 2,300 acres of riparian forests, fir groves, and endangered oak savannas and prairies. Mountain Rose Herbs sponsors multiple plots in the Native Plant Nursery each year, including Yarrow, Trillium, and Nettle.

Mountain Rose Herbs is pleased to support an organization that has a solid track record of planting and caring for trees. Since 1989, they've planted more than 450,000 trees in Portland/Vancouver and Eugene/Springfield metro areas. As a sponsor of their Green Space Initiative, this partnership is more than just a monetary donation. Mountain Rose Herbs' employees have the opportunity to get their hands dirty to increase urban canopy cover and inspire residents to care for existing trees.

Through education and collaboration, this nonprofit organization works to improve water quality and watershed ecology. The LTWC helps us maintain our pesticide-free campus, integrated pest management practices, and Salmon-Safe certification. Mountain Rose Herbs supports the LTWC as a member of their Business League and the Amazon Creek Initiative.

As a volunteer-based organization, the Middle Fork Willamette Watershed Council provides a crucial service to monitor and improve water quality in our area. Mount Pisgah Arboretum

Mount Pisgah is a nonprofit operation nesting on a 209-acre living tree museum full of diverse terrain and natural ecosystems. In total, 67 families, 231 genera, and 339 species have been identified at the luscious site including several species of introduced trees. The arboretum is committed to using an ecologically sound approach to all aspects of site development and maintenance. Throughout the year, several educational programs are sponsored by Mountain Rose Herbs and hosted onsite at Mount Pisgah, including the Wildflower Festival and the Mushroom Festival. Mountain Rose Herbs also sponsored an interpretive exhibit in the Arboretum’s incense-cedar forest, which is slated for completion in Summer 2016. Wild Salmon Center

Wild Salmon Center is the only organization of its kind that conserves wild Pacific salmon across their entire range: from Northern California, to Alaska, to the Russian Far East. They focus on river systems that are still healthy and productive—“strongholds” for wild salmon—and proactively safeguard them before critical habitat has been degraded by mines, dams, or clear-cut timber harvests. In doing so, they’re also working to benefit the North Pacific’s salmon-dependent communities, jobs, and wildlife. Mountain Rose Herbs is a generous supporter of WSC's work to conserve some of the Lower 48's best wild salmon and steelhead rivers right here in western Oregon.

Free Tea Party started in Los Angeles, California and is based around the idea that serving free tea can create positive change. Look for the mobile teahouse at street fairs, herbal conferences, festivals, or parked along a street serving tea somewhere near you.

Herbalista Free Clinic

Currently spreading herbal support throughout the East Atlanta region, Herbalista Free Clinic (AKA The Herb Bus) provides herbal first aid and earth-based constitutional medicine to underserved populations. Initial consultations are up to two hours long and include the creation of a personalized health program. We are happy to provide support by donating herbs to be used in their sliding scale herb clinic. All funds support the services of earth-based care for underserved communities.

Ithaca Free Clinic

This is one of the few medically integrated free clinics in the U.S. where patients can receive conventional medical care offered by physicians and nurse practitioners and can also receive alternative care from holistic professionals. Ithaca Health Alliance facilitates access to health care for all with a focus on the needs of the uninsured. Health services are 100% free for anyone without health insurance. Mountain Rose Herbs happily supports the Ithaca Free Clinic by donating herbs for their holistic professionals, including herbalist 7Song.

Occupy Medical

Occupy Medical runs a free clinic on Sundays in Lane County, Oregon where people with or without health insurance can come to get treated and served. This group is comprised of dedicated healthcare professionals and support personnel who believe healthcare is a basic human right that must be made accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Their mobile medical clinic provides primary care in towns in our county whose populations have the greatest needs. Mountain Rose Herbs not only donates herbs for use in their clinic, we also provides human resources via our Paid Time for Community Involvement program for staff.

The Ohlone Herbal Center Clinic has been operating since 1993. They offer wellness consultations and a fully stocked natural apothecary that provides opportunities to learn about holistic health, receive nutritional support, and formulate custom herbal medicines. Student internships are available and all clinic fees are by donation. Mountain Rose Herbs donates organic herbal products to this community clinic.

Olympia Free Clinic

The Olympia Free Herbal Clinic offers personalized health consultations, natural remedies, educational workshops, an in-house reference library, resources and referrals to other low/no-cost health services, and no-cost or sliding scale appointments with practitioners of alternative medicine. Street Level Health Project

We are proud to donate herbs to the Oakland-based grassroots organization dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of underserved urban immigrant communities in the Bay Area. The Street Level Health Project not only brings healthcare to the uninsured through their free health screening and patient health navigation program, but they also provide temporary assistance for those with basic needs in food, clothing and support as well as addresses the root causes of poor health by empowering and supporting low-wage immigrant workers to be active participants in their lives, their families, and their communities. Street Level Health Project is working to tackle institutional and systemic barriers to health equity through advocacy and coalition building with organizations committed to building power for disenfranchised communities.

NextStep Recycling

NextStep Recycling logo

NextStep is a true asset in our community. They provide technology and training to children and adults with barriers while also protecting the environment and community from hazardous waste. We donate gently used electronics for resale at their ReUse Store and also give them broken electronics to be recycled in a responsible way. Recently, we found a way to give block Styrofoam a second life and keep it out of the landfill by donating it to NextStep for their use in the shipping of refurbished electronics.
