Non-GMO Project Verified
We’re working with the Non-GMO Project to verify a selection of our products! These ingredients have been chosen because they are produced from plant crops that are known to be at risk of GMO contamination. Thankfully, most herbs and spices are not in danger of industrial genetic modification, so organic certification is our go-to for insuring that our herbal goodies are grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, GMO seed stock, or irradiation. Taking this commitment one step further, we listened to the herbal community and now have products verified through the Non-GMO Project as well.
Our herbs, spices, teas, extracts, and food grade oils are Kosher certified and Pareve by Earth Kosher, with the exception of a few which are not at this time. Inspections are performed throughout the year under the supervision of Rabbi Zushe Blech and Rabbi Zecharyah Tzvi Goldman. These inspections include our facilities, processing and handling methods, product packaging and labeling, and point of origin for our kosher materials.
We are proud to offer one of the nation’s largest lines of kosher herbs, spices, teas, and oils and we are honored to be affiliated with Earth Kosher who shares our philosophies concerning organic quality and protecting the planet. If you have any questions concerning our Kosher certification or wish to request a copy of our certificate for any of the products you have ordered, please contact the Regulatory Compliance Department at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In 2011, we became an EarthShare Oregon business member. This program allows employees to conveniently donate to local, state, and national environmental non-profit organizations and support them to protect and defend the places we hold dear. This further outlines the legacy of generosity, which is fundamental to the operational foundation of Mountain Rose Herbs. The simple act of setting up a workplace-giving program through EarthShare guarantees that the natural gifts this planet offers us will always be protected. For more information please see EarthShare.
Fair For Life
Unlike traditional Fair Trade programs that merely certify products, the Fair For Life program thoroughly reviews Mountain Rose Herbs from top to bottom, evaluating and auditing all of our working conditions, labor practices, environmental programs, social benefits, and company transparency. Not only does the Fair For Life program certify our entire company, but also reviews and monitors the origins of our products to ensure complete compliance with the program.
Mountain Rose Herbs is proud to have converted to 100% renewable energy by transferring its conventional electrical power usage to renewable energy sources, credits, and development. Recent expansions in green renewable power and carbon offset credits enabled us to convert and transfer our previous dependency on non-renewable energy sources such as fossil fuels and nuclear to a more sustainable and less harmful energy source. Our entire company’s carbon footprint including shipping, customer service, executive travel, distribution, etc, is offset through the CarbonFund.
We are the first Eugene area business to be awarded Salmon-Safe certification!
To gain this third party certification, we underwent a thorough assessment and evaluation. We conserve water with a satellite controlled irrigation system, maintain a pesticide-free facility, and utilize a bio-swale, which naturally filters roof and pavement runoff.
