A truly luxuriant, extra mild and gentle liquid soap made from certified organic ingredients. No harsh chemicals, additives, colorants, sudsing agents or other ingredients, just pure derivatives from plant sources. Great for the face and body, or as an all-purpose wash, and it makes a wonderful base ingredient for your own soaps and shampoos. While it is not necessary to dilute our Castille soap, many people prefer to dilute this soap for certain skin care recipes depending on their unique skin type.
Traditionally, Castille soap contained olive oil by definition, but that definition is now outdated, and the currently accepted definition is much broader. Our Castille soap is made with organic coconut, sunflower and castor oils instead of olive oil. We found this new formula to be superior and less “slippery.” Our Castille soap also contains Potassium hydroxide. Potassium hydroxide (KOH) is an inorganic compound, also known as caustic potash, that is used to saponify the oils. The formula contains only a small amount, and it does not affect the organic certification of the product. Our Castille soap is a powerful cleaner which suds beautifully and leaves no greasy residue. The shelf life for our Castille Soap is approximately one year.
Our castille soap is biodegradable under certain conditions. In order to break down properly, any biodegradable soap must be placed in the soil at a depth of at least six inches or more so that the natural bacteria present in the ground will break it down. It is important to dispose of the soap at least 200 feet from any water sources, and the soap does not break down properly in water. It will also harm aquatic life as it washes through streams, rivers, and into lakes.
The 8 oz. bottle comes in a retail package with a pump top, and all other sizes are packaged in bulk plastic bottles.
