This perennial ground cover is native to Europe and is cultivated worldwide. The plant prefers full sun and regular watering. Sow seed in fall or early spring on the surface of the soil. Tamp in and keep moist until germination. Direct seed or space transplants eight inches apart. These plants grow thickly almost to the point of interlocking, forming an aromatic lawn which may be mowed to maintain a close-cropped appearance. Makes an excellent place for an afternoon nap!
